Ian Couper

Ian Couper is Director of Ukwanda Centre for Rural Health, Stellenbosch University and Professor of Rural Health in the Department of Global Health, Stellenbosch University South Africa. He was Academic Head, Department of Family Medicine, University of the Witwatersrand 2009-2015. He was awarded the Fellowship of the World Organization of Family Doctors (Wonca) for services to Wonca through its Working Party on Rural Practice. He was Chairperson of the Rural Health Advocacy Project (RHAP) Executive Committee and remains a member. He plays editorial roles in the African Section, International Electronic Journal of Rural and Remote Health adn BMC Education. He has over 50 refereed publications, many conference presentations, reviews, examination-teaching and project roles.
