Prosper Tumusiime

Dr Prosper Tumusiime recently retired as Director, Universal Health Coverage – Life-cycle in WHO AFRO overseeing and guiding the newly formed Cluster that integrates the health system units with the health programs covering mother child and adolescent health including gender and the elderly. The key aim was to foster health system integrated service delivery over the life-cycle. He fostered an integrated approach to service delivery and established a Regional Task Force on Integrated Service Delivery in the context of COVID-19; Undertook a Regional HRH survey and contributed to the State of the World’s Nursing 2020 report ; Evidence-based guidance to countries informed by the health workforce labour market analysis; contribution to report to the WHA 73 on implementation of the Global Code Practice on International Recruitment of Health Personnel. He had a long career in WHO AFRO since 2000 after working in the Ugandan health system since 1982. He has 40 refereed and other articles/reports.
