A short introduction: Dr. Radha S. Karnad, BA BM MPH, is an organizational leader in Primary Health Care (PHC) and health systems strengthening. Her strong track record spans clinical service delivery in hospital and community settings, development and implementation of global health initiatives, healthcare program management, and quality improvement across the US, UK, and East Africa. As a registered public health clinician, she is the vision bearer and subject matter expert leading Jhpiego’s global Primary Health Care Systems portfolio, spanning Asia, Africa, and Central America. Her integrated portfolio includes health systems strengthening across maternal and newborn health; child health and development; adolescent sexual and reproductive health; nutrition; and water, sanitation, and hygiene, and leverages her expertise to translate health system innovations and evidence into thoughtful strategy, sustainable practice, and long term impact. Dr Karnad has lived and worked in East Africa since 2013, and has strong relationships with stakeholders and opinion-shapers in health, and across other sectors, in Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania. She was an Acumen East Africa Regional Fellow 2016 and an Afya Bora Consortium Global Health Leadership Fellow 2016-2017.
