AfroPHC is kicking off 2022 with the first interactive AfroPHC Policy Workshop on “Exploring PHC Team Practice Models for UHC” 1-4 pm Central Africa Time on Tuesday 18th January. Check your local time here.
Prof. Shabir Moosa, Executive Coordinator of AfroPHC, will share the work he does in Chiawelo Community Practice (see recently published article) and the work with the South African National Treasury on PHC strategic purchasing for National Health Insurance in South Africa (see post). We hope this will support proposals on empanelment of populations to designated PHC teams across Africa. We hope these will help stimulate your thoughts before we break into groups for discussion and return with feedback. We want to build the discussions into the draft AfroPHC Policy Document “Building the PHC Team for UHC in Africa”.
We will then break up into small groups with specific facilitators/language groups. for 45 minutes to discuss the following questions. We are hoping that the panel will have French translations.
“What should be the key elements of a PHC practice model for UHC in Africa?” We will close the meeting with feedback and summarising key issues.
Please register your interest for the Policy Workshops on the AfroPHC policy page. We will provide you the zoom meeting details a few days before the meeting.
